Workshop: Spectacular Southwest Photography
April 16, 2020 - April 20, 2020

Photograph the must-see sites of the American Southwest on a five-day workshop! You will capture images of beautiful Secret Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley, and the awe-inspiring views from Hunt’s Mesa.
Thursday, April 16. Our journey begins with a meet-and-greet dinner and orientation at one of Sedona´s best Asian restaurants, followed by a sunset shoot of iconic Cathedral Rock.
Friday, we travel from Sedona through the Painted Desert in two luxury SUVs to Page, AZ. Photograph the stunning sandstone narrows of Secret Canyon, a slot canyon endowed with sensual light.
After a hearty barbecue lunch, frame the sunset at spectacular Horseshoe Bend, a breathtaking overlook of a deep bend in the Colorado River as it enters the Grand Canyon. Dinner and margaritas in Page complete this first introduction to the beauty of the Southwest.
Saturday, we continue to sacred Monument Valley and enter the spiritually blessed Navajo lands and the backdrop of John Wayne Westerns. Photograph a traditional Navajo rug weaver before we set out on an exploration of the most magical spots of this Valley. Complete the day with an iconic sunset shot of the towering Mittens.
Sunday, we make an early start on a four-wheel-drive over the sand dunes to capture sunrise at the gravity-defying Totem Pole and “spirits of the Yei Bi Chei”, another awe-inspiring formation. In the early afternoon, we leave for the highlight of the trip: A rough four-wheel-ascent to the top of Hunts Mesa with the most majestic view of Monument Valley. We photograph the fantastic panoramic sunset views from our perch, as our guides set up camp and cook a delicious campfire dinner under the stars.
Monday, we begin our final day by capturing the first rays of the sun caressing the sacred Monument Valley in the morning. Following a tasty lunch in Kayenta’s charming Amigo Café, we return to Sedona through the scenic lands of roaming wild horses, with vistas of enormous sandstone formations and the majestic San Francisco Peaks. A farewell dinner in Sedona with a review of our photographic and spiritual experiences concludes our journey together.
