“The land of northeastern Arizona is a place of many contrasts. Light moves through the dark as restless winds blow through holes in the Earth. Sunlit sand dunes hold loose remnants of ancient, broken mountains. Gravity gathers the elements together, then pulls them apart. Time shifts against time. Transitory clouds brush across stoic sandstone cliffs. Mundane existence opens up to sacred moments. Now and then it all makes sense. And then it changes.. like dust in the wind.” Journal entry: April 28, 2019 (during the Spectacular Southwest Photography Workshop)
